Retailers are focused on balancing tight inventory management and high levels of customer service.  They want to avoid stock outs so as not to lose sales revenue while also avoiding holding too much inventory that is later heavily discounted to move the excess inventory.   Wal-Mart, who is always searching for opportunities to gain efficiencies in their supply chain, recently announced that US vendors shipping to distribution centers must deliver within a four day window leading up to the must-arrive-by-date (MABD). 


Saks Fifth Avenue EDI Changes

Saks Fifth Avenue recently uploaded changes within their Vendor Relations Website.  Some of the changes include updates to the following documents:

Vendor Standards Manual

  • Vendor Relations Contacts
  • Expense offset for UPCs not on the Inovis Catalogue are now $5 per UPC/EAN. The $250 per PO shipment fee has been eliminated.

SFA approved Hanger Outsources

  • Women’s heat transfer for SFA and Threads (off 5th)
  • 548 Apparel (off 5th)

Anna’s Linens has created new PO types.  The new PO Types will only effect the Direct Import and the Import POE vendors, with the following to change to the mapping:

 - Q – Direct Import
 - R – Import POE
If you are a Direct Import or Import POE vendor you will need to update you PO mappings with the above changes, failure to do so will result in POs not being processed correctly. Vendors CANNOT send multiple PO’s on a single ASN.  Anna’s Linens ASN requirements are as follows:
